Welcome to Vagabond Geology! We believe strongly that geology has influenced most of human history, continues to influence our world and most importantly, impacts you directly! The effects of geology are all around you if you know what to look for. Ever paddle down a river...thank geology; ever ski a mountain...thank geology; ever fish in a lake...thank geology. Geology creates soils, different plants grow in different soils, different animals feed on different plants...hence, animals you find in the wild are there because of the geology! Geology creates mountains and valleys, mountains and valleys affect climate therefore geology affects climate. Geology creates the minerals we need to live on, it stores the fresh water we depend on, it created the fossil fuels we rely on, it brings to the surface critical rocks we build with and precious stones we love with. Impact of geology in our lives is everywhere! ...Understand geology and you'll understand your world!
