Ever think about how geology affects where you live, the things you do and the places you visit?? Join me, Don Beaumont, as I review what I know about geology in simple and straighforward terms and show you how pervasive geology really is ....
The "Geology Classes" tab above will show the classes I have taught through Senior University, Georgetown, Texas and/or the University of Texas at Austin ("UT Sage"). Through these classes you'll learn about rock types, the rock cycle, mountain building & subsequent weathering, earthquake hotspots, plate tectonics, how geology & "geologists" are the principal enables of human history... and my theories about the evolution of man as related to man's search for fertile soils and key minerals, e.g., coal, flint, copper, tin, and more recently, oil & uranium.
The "Field Trips" tab above will show you pictures of the field trips I have led to various places in and around Georgetown, Texas. The rest of the tabs are self-explanatory.
If you would like to be notified when a new class has been added to the site, please send me a note via the "Contact Me" tab above and your email address will be added to our distribution list. This list is not given out to anyone.
